Bioshock- What I am playing today....

I only picked up Bioshock recently although it was released on August 21, 2007. It had gone down in price to $19.99, and the game was definitely worth it.

It lived up to the expectations. Made by 2K Australia/Boston, Bioshock is a first person shooter with RPG elements that blends a fantastic story and setting together seemlessly even though it is an FPS. The major element of the game for me is the setting. From leaking pipes, to beautiful underwater views, Bioshock has a lot of fantastic art deco. The people of Rapture, and their diaries really create a look into the lives of the civilians. It paints a backstory and immerses the player into the game. The depiction of the cursed people of rapture, turned into violent and grotesque creatures brings a great horror feel to the game.

My hat is off to the staff of 2K for taking something realistically unbelievable and making me a believer. I recommend this PC game to anyone who hasn't played it, and look forward to the sequel, Bioshock 2, on October 30, this fall.
